Dear readers,

my name is Jonathan Brachthäuser and I am a computer scientist, former webdeveloper, classical music fan boy and musician.

I am in my final year of PhD in the group of Klaus Ostermann at Tübingen University. My research focuses on effect systems and different aspects of software modularity.

Over the summer of 2018, I had the pleasure to work at Microsoft Research with Daan Leijen on his language Koka and control-flow linearity and implicits.

I finished my master studies at University of Marburg, Germany and received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Applied Science, Stuttgart. During my bachelor studies I worked at elephant seven, Hamburg.

In my spare time I like to work on open source projects like Scala Effekt and other fancy language or web related things. Some older projects are contexthighlighter and ejs. To get an idea what drives me at the moment, you can always look the list of repositories that I created and forked.
